We built DemandLabs to solve
a problem that was hiding in plain sight.
Excellent products being shut out of excellent markets — not because they were inadequate, but because their manufacturers lacked the regulatory expertise to demonstrate their adequacy.
About DemandLabs Consulting
DemandLabs Consulting LLP is a boutique regulatory consulting firm with a single, clear focus: helping manufacturers, exporters, and global companies navigate the regulatory certification landscape for food contact materials and water treatment equipment — across India, the United States, and the Middle East.
We are based in Bengaluru, India — at the intersection of India's manufacturing heartland and its technology ecosystem. This positioning gives us direct access to India's manufacturing clusters, deep familiarity with India's regulatory institutions, and the operational infrastructure to serve clients globally.
We are deliberately boutique — and we intend to stay that way. Our size allows us to maintain the senior expertise, personal accountability, and genuine transparency that large consulting firms struggle to deliver at the client level.
Why we built DemandLabs
DemandLabs Consulting was founded on a simple observation: the regulatory certification landscape for food contact materials and water treatment equipment is genuinely complex — but it does not have to be inaccessible.
Too many good manufacturers — producing excellent products in India and around the world — are being shut out of premium markets not because their products are inadequate, but because they do not have the regulatory expertise to demonstrate their adequacy. A Rajkot stainless steel cookware manufacturer with products of genuine quality, unable to access the USA market because NSF/ANSI 51 feels insurmountably complex. A Pune food-grade plastics company producing material that meets every technical requirement, unable to export to the UAE because ESMA certification seems impenetrable. An international water treatment equipment brand missing the India opportunity because the BIS CRS process appears too bureaucratic to navigate from abroad.
At the same time, global companies with strong FCM and water treatment brands are leaving the India opportunity on the table — not because the market is not attractive, but because they do not have the local regulatory knowledge and commercial intelligence to enter it correctly.
We built DemandLabs Consulting to bridge these gaps — with specialist expertise, genuine accountability, and a commitment to telling clients the truth about what is required, how long it will take, and what it will cost.
What being boutique means in practice
Senior expertise on every engagement
Every client engagement at DemandLabs is led by a senior consultant with hands-on experience in the relevant regulatory domain and geography. We do not use junior analysts as the primary point of contact for complex regulatory work. When you work with DemandLabs, you always know who is working on your file — and you can always reach them directly.
No padding, no fluff
We give our clients exactly the analysis and guidance they need — and nothing more. We do not produce reports for the sake of producing reports. Every deliverable has a clear purpose and a clear action that follows from it. Our Gap Assessment Reports are written to be read and acted upon — not to impress with volume.
Honest about what we do not know
No single firm knows everything. When a client's need falls outside our specific expertise — a specialist area of tax law, a niche laboratory capability, a country we do not cover — we say so clearly and connect them with the right specialist, rather than stretching beyond our competence and creating risk for our client.
Long-term relationships over transactional engagements
Our best client relationships are long-term ones — where we become the trusted regulatory partner for an organisation's food contact and water treatment compliance needs, rather than a one-time service provider. We build our practice around these kinds of relationships — and our retainer programmes are designed to make them practical and affordable.
What we stand for
Specialist Depth Over Generalist Breadth
We work only in food contact materials and water treatment equipment. This is not a limitation — it is a deliberate choice that makes us significantly more valuable to the clients we serve. Deep beats wide, every time.
Transparency as a Competitive Advantage
We tell clients what their certification will actually cost, how long it will actually take, and what the genuine risks are. In an industry where optimistic estimates are common, honesty is the strongest foundation for trust — and for lasting client relationships.
India as a Platform for Global Impact
We are proud to be an India-headquartered firm. India's manufacturers and exporters deserve world-class regulatory expertise. India's growing market deserves to attract the best global companies. We are building DemandLabs to serve both sides of this equation — with equal commitment.
